We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability. To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

The Mousepad Company website is built with accessibility in mind across shopping flows for mousepads, art prints, and desk accessories. We use semantic HTML, clear page structure, skip-to-content links, and ARIA attributes where they help assistive technologies understand our interface. We also maintain theme-level accessibility improvements so keyboard users and screen-reader users can move through navigation, product pages, collection filters, cart, and checkout-related steps as smoothly as possible.

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our site implements Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) techniques alongside standard HTML semantics so visitors using screen readers can read, understand, and use key functions. That includes meaningful labels for controls (search, cart, menus, and product options), form guidance, and roles for common interface patterns such as buttons, menus, and dialogs. Product imagery and icons are given alternate text or accessible names whenever they convey meaning.

Keyboard navigation is a core part of how we build and review the storefront. Visitors should be able to move through the site with Tab and Shift+Tab, activate links and buttons with Enter or Space, dismiss overlays with Esc where applicable, and complete forms without relying on a mouse. We continue to refine focus order, focus visibility, and hidden/decorative content so assistive tech is not cluttered by elements that are not meant to be interactive.

What we work to support

Vision and screen-reader use — clear headings, descriptive labels, and compatibility with common screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS.

Motor / keyboard-only use — operable navigation, product selection, and cart actions without pointer input.

Cognitive clarity — straightforward page titles, consistent layout patterns, and readable product information so shoppers can focus on choosing a design, size, and fabric with less friction.

Motion sensitivity — where practical, we respect reduced-motion preferences and avoid unnecessary flashing or autoplaying content that could interfere with comfortable browsing.

Assistive technology and browser compatibility

We aim to support the widest practical set of modern browsers and assistive technologies, including current versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and popular screen readers on both desktop and mobile.

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our best efforts, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or lack an adequate technical solution yet. We are continually improving accessibility as we update the storefront and adopt better patterns. If something blocks you from shopping or reading content on themousepadcompany.com, please email support@themousepadcompany.com and tell us the page URL and what you were trying to do — we will work to fix it.
